When

NOW As of April 10, 2021 we are in the USVI preparing to load cargo at the end of this month and sail to Ile a Vache Haiti the first week in May, arriving there by May 8. We have been asked to bring the following cargo:

More 6 volt batteries for solar systems. Dried food for distribution to those in need (rice, beans, flour, cooking oil, pasta and tomato sauce… basic essentials)

December 2018 Sailing to Haiti, unloading cargo

January 2019 at Ile a Vache, Haiti, helping to install water pumps and solar panels for water supply and irrigation.

February through April 2019 in St. Thomas and St. John USVI hosting guests and offering charters.

May 2019 sail back to Ile a VAche Haiti, deliver additional supplies for the VI, back to Florida, NYC, and New England

June through September 2019 – hosting guests and offering charters in Newport RI, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket MA.

PAST

January 2018 –  In Ile a Vache Haiti to help with distributions and projects as other boats arrive, and to install a new pump and solar panels and additional pipes on the water well distribution project completed in 2017.

February 2018 – Heading to Vieques, Puerto Rico and Culebra to deliver donated supplies for Hurricane Irma and Maria relief to those islands.

March 2018 – Perhaps to the BVI and USVI and St. Maarten to see if we can lend a hand and help there and do what we can to support the local economy.

April 2018 – TBD… Where do You want to go? Eastern Caribbean, Cuba, Central America, South Pacific? Crew, volunteers and guests will decide where we go next.

May 2018 – heading back to Florida and sailing up the US East Coast to New York.

June 2018 – In New York, Connecticut and Newport, RI                                                                  July to September 2018 – in Martha’s Vineyard, MA and Newport, RI

October 2018 in Connecticut loading cargo and preparing for voyage

November 2018 Sailed to NYC, Washington DC, Wrightsville Beach, NC and Ft. Lauderdale FL loading more cargo and preparing for voyage south to Haiti.

2010 – Sequoia sailed to Ile a Vache Haiti after the Port Au Prince earthquake in January 2010 after helping to organize a flotilla of ten boats sailing there from Florida, and helped deliver a boat loaded with a large cargo of mostly beans, rice, flour and cooking oil. (Photos)

2011 – Second voyage to Ile a Vache Haiti in 2011 with Bruce Leeming of Friends of Ile a Vache Haiti, a Canadian Charity he founded, on his Gulfstar 50, departed from Deltaville, VA and to Ile a Vache in February. Photos: 2011 Voyage to Haiti Blog

2014-15 Third voyage, first on Tandemeer for International Rescue Group: left CT at end of November, arrived Florida on Christmas eve, to the Bahamas in January, then to Haiti in February, then on to Cayman Islands, Cuba and Mexico. (photos)

2015-16 Fourth voyage, second on Tandemeer: Left Martha’s Vineyard at end of September, picked up cargo in Essex and Norwalk, CT, Deltaville, VA, Southport, NC, Charleston, SC and Dania Beach, FL, through the Bahamas arriving St. Marc, Haiti on January 7, 2016 to deliver cargo to SCEH projects in Deschapelles, then sailed to Ile a Vache, to unload and assist there for a few weeks, sailed to Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Isla Mujeres, Mexico, Key West FL, then back to Philadelphia, PA, NYC and Martha’s Vineyard by mid June. 2016 Fifth voyage to Haiti – Left Martha’s Vineyard, October 1, sailed to Essex, CT to load very large cargo of donations for Hurricane Matthew relief efforts to southern Haiti. Tandemeer was the first boat to arrive to Ile a Vache after Hurricane Matthew on November 20th, and delivered a substantial cargo of medical supplies, food, clothing and construction supplies to help with recovery. We focused on making clean and potable drinking water with our three reverse osmosis watermakers. In December we sailed back to Florida to pick up another cargo for Haiti.
